Orbera Intragastric Balloon Placement

Orbera Intragastric Balloon Placement is a non-surgical procedure which we place a balloon inside stomach for 6 months by simple endoscopy procedure. The Orbera balloon takes up some space in the stomach and help to consume smaller meals. This procedure take 20-30 minutes to be placed and same amount of time to remove it. On average patient's lost is 3.1 times the weight loss of diet and exercise alone.

The Procedure: Placement and Removal

  • Non-surgical procedure done under a mild sedative, the thin and deflated ORBERA™ balloon is placed into the stomach. It is then filled with saline until it’s about the size of a grapefruit. The procedure typically takes about 20-30 minutes so you can go home the very same day

  • At six months, the balloon is removed in the same way it was placed. Through a non-surgical procedure done under a mild sedative, it is deflated first then removed
